Yes, I Do... but I Don't
by Bill Krause
How many times have you heard yourself say these words? “I know I need to do that”. The truth is that we know that we need to do certain things. We just don’t know it or desire it enough.
For example, if you believe that you need to get up earlier, quit struggling with it and just do it.
However, you need to realize that in order to get up earlier, you will have to go to bed earlier. In order to go to bed earlier, you will have to give up some of your nighttime activity. Yes, we may desire to get up earlier but we don’t desire it enough to give up our TV shows. This means the TV show is more important to us than getting up early in the morning. We have to realize though, that TV shows will not help us to get where we truly want to go. Getting up earlier and investing that time into our present will allow our future to be dramatically different.
In the same token, if we are seeking a financial breakthrough, we need to establish that we truly do want it. Most of us think we want a financial breakthrough, yet our words and our actions say something different.
Are we forcing ourselves to set aside every weight that so easily besets us? (Hebrews 12:1) Are we eliminating the useless so that we are in a position to do the necessary?
We have to ask ourselves; “What must I do to be saved, delivered, and set free from my current situation?” We have to say; “I know what to do. Now, I need to make the right choices of what NOT to do.” We have to confess; “I can do it. I can receive. I can win if I will make the right choices.”
You can not put gold in a can if it is already completely filled with sand. You will have to dump out the sand in order to make room for the gold.
When you decide to do what you know is right, you will set aside that which does not satisfy. You will replace it with what will work and then be able to accomplish what you really want to accomplish.
