What Do You See?
by Bill Krause
When we were young, for most of us, seeing clearly was a part of everyday life. We could read a book under a dim light, read a sign at any distance and look at most anything without squinting. Our natural vision was without flaw, something that we took for granted, something we thought we would never lose.
We could not understand why the old folks needed glasses, why they had lost their vision and could not see what we could see. As time wore on, so did our ability to see clearly and our vision began to diminish. What was once so clear had become blurred; our ability to see clearly was clouded and vague. That excellent vision had become lost vision; we could not even see any more what was so clearly evident before.
Remember what grandeur you saw when you first married, started your new job, graduated from school, launched a new business. You saw success, joy and bright tomorrows. You had the ability to conquer all.
It was clear to you that all would go well; you could see hope in your future. The course of your life was set; painted before you was a clear path. There was no possibility of failure. You were confident, courageous and energized.
You did see others whose marriages did not work out, no longer liked their jobs or whose business had failed and you said to yourself, “What did that have to do with me? I could see clearly my bright tomorrows with no rough water ahead.”
Somehow over the years we lost vision, the victory became less clear and perhaps even faded into oblivion. Hurts, disappointments and frustrations caused our vision to blur. What was once crystal clear is now covered over, not even seen through the eyes of frustration, because of battle scars
What do you see now in regards to those areas of life that you desire to have victory in? Are you wondering how do I get back to having that pep in my step to accomplish the mission?
When we began to lose our natural sight, we went to an eye doctor to restore our vision, so we could again see clearly what we could easily see before. With restored vision we can now see what was always there -- the thing we had lost sight of. At a minimum we could see it, however we could not see clearly enough for it to be beneficial to help us accomplish the task.
When we become “blinded” on the inside with pain and what appears to be failure, we need to get our interior vision fixed.
We lose our vision; we no longer have the ability to hope in our dreams that were once so grand. We begin to falter, we lose our drive to complete the original plan, and we are unable to see the future clearly. We need to bring back the clarity and the hope that once resided on the inside of us. By seeing what we originally saw with renewed clarity, we can achieve the desired result and put ourselves back on the trail of victory. Fix your vision. Allow yourself to see the truth. See again what you saw before the loss of hope. Give up your blindness, repaint your vision and stay focused on the clarity of your original picture. Don’t give up. With restored vision you will achieve what you can see.
