Soul Winning 101

Soul Winning 101

by Bill Krause

Two of the most important words in the Kingdom of God are “Come” and “Go”.  The first thing we need to do with Christ is to Come to Him.  Hear the call to follow him and to become a disciple.

This brings us to our second word, Go.  This word Go is used 255 times in the NKJV NT.  Matt. 28:19 tells us “Go therefore and make disciples.”  After we Come to Jesus we need to Go to those that need Him, which includes all those that don’t have Him.

Proverbs 11:30 says, “He who wins souls is wise.”  We, as disciples, need to Go and take souls. The word wins, OT #39471, means “to take”.  As disciples, we need to Go and take souls not wait around for them to walk into our place of fellowship.  We should come to the realization that we have the authority and ability to help others come to Christ.

Luke 5:11 says, “Do not be afraid, now you will catch men.”  We are duly authorized and have nothing to be afraid of. The Holy Spirit is with us to help us win others to Christ.

We have a heart for the lost given to us by Christ and we need to encourage ourselves to give help to those who do not know Him.  Because we Go, they can Come.  We are given the privilege to give people the choice between everlasting life and everlasting death.  To know Him is to live forever in glory, to miss Jesus is to live in everlasting death.

Pray each day for the Holy Spirit to guide you to one who is ready to Come to Jesus.  As we ask, we will receive opportunity to share our faith, to bring others to the hope of life with Jesus Christ.

We need to allow ourselves to connect Christ’s love with those who are lost.  We need to be willing to make disciples and to invest into others that which has been invested into us.  As we flow with the Holy Spirit, ministering to others, we gain in our ability to grow in our own lives and to become more like Christ.  As we mature it puts us in a place of having greater understanding which helps us to know that Christ is working in our life, thus making us more grateful for our own relationship with Christ.

We need to be in the place that we are willing and able to reach all types of people for Christ.  “God would that none should perish, no not one.”  This means the rich, the poor, the young, the old, blue collar, white collar, educated, uneducated.  No matter what their status in life is, Christ wants us to lead them to Him.

We, as believers in Jesus Christ, need to convey to all people that we are not here to judge them. We are here to love them and to offer them a new way of life - a life of joy, peace and hope, eternal life with God without end.

You are Christ’s representative.  Go out in to the everyday world sharing the good news, bringing hope to a lost and dying world. Now let your light shine for all people to see the goodness and the glory of God.
