Immediate Internet Interest
I have a friend who had a highly successful establishment. It was the hottest place in town, the brightest spot for the biggest names. However, all that success fell by the way side and what was once cutting edge and greatly desired by all did not keep pace with the changing times, even though he was counseled to differently. He stuck with the old way and did not stay current. This is the way it is today for many business oweners with regards to computers and the Internet. Business owners need to stay current with its whole host of tools and terms and stay in step with what is most effective.
I recently went to a web seminar that explained today’s “must know” terms used for maximum web benefit for your business. Some examples are: key word, optimization, search engine optimization, search terms, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, key word analyzer, back links to your website. These are words that are used everyday – some I had heard and some I had never heard. I now have a working knowledge of the meanings and use of these terms that help a business utilize the Internet to expose their products and services to broader markets.
Another client told me of the sales that were made in his business over the weekend while he was spending time with his family, going to church and watching sports. Those Internet sales were a result of the work he had done on his web site while he was working during the week. Making a few thousand dollars in sales while off relaxing sure makes for a great weekend and adds to the bottom line.
Statistics show that 80% of businesses do not have a web site. Of the 20% of the businesses that do have a web site, a small number are converting effective revenue as a result of their web site. A web site is a necessary tool of the 21st century and one that produces can be worth its weight in gold. It is easy and relatively inexpensive to put up a web site, however, having a web site that nobody sees is only one notch above not having a web site.
Proper use of the Internet, with the right capitalization, can increase traffic, drive new exposure, and improve the bottom line. With an effective web site a small business owner will get recognized and become a viable competitor in a brand new way. By increasing your exposure in the online market place you can develop a much broader customer base.
Don’t fall behind the times; stay current with today’s fast paced world. Do yourself a favor and invest in your business by learning what to do to optimize your website. Even minor Search Engine Optimization (SEO) changes to your website will bring you unlimited benefits that will continue for years to come. Take Immediate Internet Interest; don’t delay -- start today to optimize your web potential.
