How to Increase Your Financial Harvest

How to Increase Your Financial Harvest

by Bill Krause

Years ago, when I moved into my own home I wanted to put in a garden. Since I like inexpensive, quick results, I built my own wooden flats. After filling them with good soil I planted a pack of tomato seeds. As a result of my abundant planting I ended up with 40 healthy tomato plants. I transplanted them to my garden area in our backyard. You can guess what happened next. I had more tomatoes than I would ever need! I did not intend for this great abundance. It simply came as a result of my liberal planting. We had so many tomatoes that it was hard to find places for all of them. We canned them, ate them, gave them away, and sold them. We did anything else we could think of in order to share the harvest with which we were blessed.

Everything reproduces after its own kind. If we want tomatoes we plant tomatoes; if we want beans, we plant beans. Choose the desired crop and you’ll know the necessary seed.

This principle works exactly the same way with our finances.

One of the greatest needs for people today is money. If you need a money “harvest” then plant a money “seed.” If we can see this so clearly with our tomatoes, why is it hard to see it with our money?

Just like the tomato plants, the more seed you plant the more harvest you obtain. I would have had a lot fewer tomatoes if I had only planted two plants. Fewer plants, smaller harvest; a very easy concept to understand. Even though I did not think the project all the way through, I ended up with an abundance of tomatoes based on the amount of my planting.

The more we plant, the more we harvest. The less we plant, the less we harvest. If we do not plant we can be sure we will not have a harvest. You may receive something from some kind person who shares from their harvest; however, you will not find yourself in the “more than enough” column.

It is in giving that we receive.

Life is really simple. You determine the size of your need and this leads you to determine the amount of seed you need to plant. Now you can begin the planting process. Be sure to find good, rich soil that can produce the harvest that is desired.

There will be some amount of maintenance involved in order to obtain your harvest in the shortest amount of time. This calls for watering with the confession of God’s Word to ensure that the growth continues. There will be weeds to pick; an eliminating of your negative thoughts and words. Watering and weeding takes time. However, you are guaranteed that in due season you will reap if you continue working through the process.
