The Six Month Rule what an incredible principle! While attending the February 2005 Financial Freedom Seminar, I heard Pastor Bill speak of this rule. I had just received a pay raise of $100 per week the Monday prior to the seminar. My wife Shawnta and I had already discussed and planned out how we would utilize this increase in our life. We have four kids and that extra $90 a week would have, in the natural, impacted our life greatly. Pastor Bill explained to me that if I would take my increase and give it for six months straight that God would truly bless our life. He shared that by doing this I would be telling God that I truly trust in His economic system and not in mans.
I returned home from the seminar and discussed the Six Month Rule with my wife. Needless to say, she did not agree with this idea because she was not at the seminar. My final statement to her that night was, Honey, since we do not agree on what to do, we will not do anything for now. That was Monday night. The following Sunday, Shawnta looked at me and said, Honey, lets do it! That evening we gave away the first of thousands of dollars over the next six months.
About one month after we started giving our increase, our church was taking up a significant seed offering and Shawnta and I agreed to give $250, which was a large amount for us at that time. I was in the house on Saturday afternoon and the Lord spoke to me and told me to give $1000 in the significant seed offering. I said, Lord, you have to bring it because there is no way that we can do this. Shawnta and I prayed and thanked the Lord for the $1000. Three weeks later, the day before the offering, someone came and gave me a Holy Ghost hand shake. I very graciously said thank you, walked away, and looked at the check, which was for exactly $1000. These types of things are still happening in our life today. Not only has God put money in our hand, but the most awesome thing that has happened in my life since February 2005 is the increase of revelation knowledge concerning finances. I would recommend that all believers trust God with their increase and truly see God take care of them. Thank you, Pastor Bill, for hearing God and hosting these life-changing seminars.
