Grandma Betty

God is blessing me in many areas of my life and I would like to share it with others. I moved from Southern California in October 2005 and began attending Family Community Church soon after. To most at church, I am known as Grandma Betty. I attended Pastor Krauses Connection Class and knew God directed me to attend this church and to sit under this mans ministry.
Pastor Krause has taught us to seek first the Kingdom, and thats exactly what I am doing. I am in church regularly, read my Bible, pray, listen to preaching CDs, and read any book that is recommended by Pastor and Mrs. Krause.
I had been seeking God for some direction in getting my finances in order and He directed me to the budget counseling program that is offered at church. What a great program. Pastor Krause teaches the importance of being out of debt, giving finances to the things of God, and learning to receive.
My budget counselor makes it so easy to understand and has helped merealize how important obedience is to God. It was a little bit of a struggle in the beginning, since I have never been on any kind of budget in my life, but the consistent (weekly) meetings and accountability have helped tremendously. I actually look forward to our meetings.
Through budget counseling I can see how I cant afford NOT to attend the next Financial Freedom Seminar. My budget counselor is teaching me many of the principles that Pastor Krause teaches during the seminar, such as making giving a need and honoring the man of God, and I know God will continue to bless me with the finances to attend in October 2006. Right now I am setting aside money each month to be able to pay for it.
Another of the many things we are working on is my being able to receive. I had always lived with the stubborn mentality that I can take care of myself. Well, God is getting the message to me that He wants to meet all my needs, and the teaching I am receiving is encouraging me to see the bigness of God and allow Him to work on my behalf. At this time Im on a fairly fixed income, but God is faithful to come through with extra money each month and from different sources so that my needs are met and I can give to the Gospel!
The biggest thrill I want to share is the fact that obeying God in my finances is bringing me blessings in so many other areas. While I have had some serious health issues over the past several years, God is using His miracle working power and I am now receiving good reports from the doctors. Family strain that has been going on for months has seemed to miraculously disappear and God is bringing us back together stronger than ever. Obedience and accountability have great rewards.
Im excited to continue with my budget counseling, and getting the continued discipline and obedience in my life that I need so God can pour out His blessings upon me. Im also looking forward to the October 2006 Financial Freedom Seminar!
